Burning of the Soul

Tuesday, July 18th, 2006

From whence comes

This burning of the soul?

Soaring, secret waves

And passions to behold?

From whence comes burning?

Arousing sulphuric tears

Unabounding joy

And unexplained fears?

Waves of joy and

Waves of grief

With scarcely known

Unreasoned screams

Secret reactions

To who knew what

Caused the burning

Of the heart.

We are beings

Passionate

Looking, longing, waiting

For fulfillment

Will we give an answer

To the burning of  soul?

Will we enlighten those

Who long to be whole?

If they don’t scream “Jesus!”

They will scream against Him.

“Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.”

Matthew 9:37

Poem - Victory

Saturday, May 6th, 2006

Is he bigger than your negative situation?
Oh yes he is, he’s bigger than creation.
He’s the creator, the life, the doctor of all things wrong.
Desiring simply your love, the greatest song….
that pleases his ears, that adds life to your years, filling your heart with praise.
Overabundant grace, that will make your heart race… only if you’d give him a chance.
A chance to open to the door, to see that theirs more
And let him into every part of your life.
An end to this strife is what is in sight if you would simply submit to the light.
Its time to change, time to rearrange with the son of God in the center of your soul — only then will you be made whole.
So when that pain comes down, and pulls you right to the ground you know that THIS TIME, the savior will come ’round.
He’ll scrape you off the floor and let you fight for more…
to see a new day, he’ll take out the gray, and you will have VICTORY!

Poem - The 23RD CHANNEL

Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006

I found this poem and I think it really speaks to the problem of TV for a lot of people.

“The 23RD CHANNEL”
(-author unknown).

The TV is my shepherd, I shall want.
It makes me lie down on the sofa.
It leads me away from the scriptures.
It destroys my soul.
It leads me in the path of sex and violence, for the sponsor’s sake.
Yea, though I walk in the shadow of my Christian responsibilities, there will be no interruption, For the TV is with me.
It’s cable and remote, they control me.
It prepares a commercial before me in the presence of worldliness; It anoints my head with Humanism, My coveting runneth over…..

Poem - Maybe for a day…

Wednesday, April 19th, 2006

What if for a day the whole world sought righteousness.
What would that day look like?

Maybe for a day…
clubs, bars, and porn shops would be empty.
Maybe for a day…
people would stop getting lost in fantasy and instead improve reality.
Maybe for a day…
false churches would preach repentance instead of acceptance.
Maybe for a day…
it would not be about you, you, you.
Maybe for a day…
criticism would turn into edification.
Maybe for a day…
forgiveness wouldn’t just be an option.
Maybe for a day…
the almighty dollar would be dethroned.
Maybe for a day…
just a day… the world would see a glimpse of heaven.
