In the spirit NOT in the flesh.

What is bread from one man to another? It is a good act. But will wither away and never be remembered. But to sow bread into another hand through the spirit of Christ. THAT is what pushes back the kingdom of hell and echos through eternity. Are you sowing in the flesh? The flesh is powerless. Are you sowing in the spirit? Your actions will become that of a spiritual flame from the heart of Christ to the hand of another man and their spirit will rejoice.

I was TIRED of sowing in the flesh. Went to work… day after day and nothing was returned, no ground gained, and the kingdom of hell tromped over me and wittled my faith down. Was this the life that Christ died for me to live? To sit behind a computer while my boss runs over me. To not grow spiritually and grow dull and flat? Absolutely not!

BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO WALK ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT AND NOT ACCORDING TO THE FLESH

We need to learn to LISTEN and be OBEDIENT to the Holy Spirit who is given to us all who believe on Christ as our Lord. When he is calling you.. don’t run. Be with him day after day. Worship Jesus and his Holy Spirit will come and light up your heart. He will open your eyes and the Holy ghost will speak. You will learn his voice. “The sheep know the shepards voice”… many can hear from the spiritual realm but only the children of God can distinguish his voice. The word of God teaches us his character and what his voice sounds like. Then apply and listen to him daily.

In all of my days of learning to hear the voice of the Lord, words that make you frantic, scared or want to act quickly are almost never of God. God gave us a spirit of peace, and he will train you slowly so that when heated times come you will be able to stand strong without wavering left or right.

I am reading this book on true love. That having your needs met, like someone spending time with you, feeding you, etc. That is not true biblical love. Biblical love is different than having your emotional or physical needs met. Biblical love is of the spirit.

“And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor,v and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.”
Corinthians 13:3

Lord grant us wisdom to see past the flesh into the spirit each day. To sow into peoples’ lives the fruit of heaven and not the fruit of this earth. Get rid of the dross and dead works to bring what you promised us in your word. “Life and life more abundantly”. Help us to walk in the spirit that we may see the schemes of the enemy and be redeemed by your words. Give us fresh revelation of your word that we may understand even the deep secrets of your kingdom. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Sowing in the flesh often seems like the most logical, straightforward, and successful way of advancing God’s kingdom. It gets so frustrating when you realise the fleshly effort was meaningless, like running the wrong way on an escalator. Chances are the escalator is winning, and you can’t sit down to rest when you are tired.

I’m reminded of Solomon’s book of Ecclesiastes. He was devasted because, after living life for wisdom, pleasure, and works, he concluded that everything is utterly meaningless. In his concluding thoughts he wrote, “…Studying opinions forever can become very exhausting! …Fear God and obey His commands, for this is the duty of every person. God will judge us for everything we do, including every secret thing, whether good or bad.” (Ecc. 12:12-14)

Judged for good things. Hmmm. Yes, judged for secret motivations to perform a “righteous” act. We all do that at times. I am willing to give the pope the benefit of the doubt, assuming he wants desperately to please God. He needs the spirit. He needs to be born again.

May the Lord grant us the grace and humility to live by the spirit and not by the flesh, according to Galations 2:20.
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”
